I think my guess is wilder than yours Dave, so Ectoplasm it is.
A "Z",,,never, not ever, not at all, no way.
And I mean that most sincerely.

It could also be regurgitative costromene, but that's
only a wild guess. I'm too far away to analyze it.
By ther way, "analyze" looks and sounds better
when spelled with a "z" rather than an "s."
