Riyadh from Kingdom Centre (3)

This is one of the views from the sky bridge atop Kingdom Centre. Unfortunately, it was quite dusty that day, so I’d like to go back when it’s clearer, if it in fact gets clearer. The night view, however, is spectacular.

Extending 65 meters in length, the sky bridge is a steel structure weighing around 300 tons, sitting on top of the 302-meter-high tower and overlooking the whole of Riyadh. The trip to the sky bridge is on two elevators, one to the 77th floor and the second to the 99th. Each one takes around 40-50 seconds.

Riyadh is a city of more than 5 million, much larger than I imagined. It was established at an oasis in the desert; ironic now that with so many people, there is no longer any water here.

Would these be private residences - so close to the main city? Fascinating.

Not much greenery there...
