Processed Clay Drying

In the historical process, the raw clay is dug and subjected to incredible
amounts of manual labor to reach the point of being ready for use. Some
is mixed with water and slip washed out from stones, then poured into a
pond to dry down. Here the layer has been scored so the finished blocks
will be easier to handle. (screen capture from Adam Field slide)
