Had dinner, been out to play, just snoozing it all off….so why are you pointing a camera at me? I know, I know, again a less-than-inspiring photo but nonetheless it’s my best shot of the day.
I survived my first day in school, another small step has been taken into regenerating some self-respect – only another 19 to go of this batch. It’s a nice school and we’ve been made extremely welcome so I’m hoping this will set the tone for the rest of the month. There is a (albeit small) possibility that I may manage to sleep for a couple of hours tonight. Lola realised at 5.50am this morning that I wasn’t asleep and decided that she’d take advantage of that fact and join me in bed for a cuddle. I must confess that she provided just the right level of comfort, especially as I had to dash out of bed and out of the house to be sure of arriving at my destination at the allotted time. Of course I was half-an-hour early because I am so obsessive about time keeping.
Interestingly one of the best bits about the day was feeling good about being dressed like a grown-up for the first time in a lot of years. As a student, you can get away with blue murder in the clothing department. I’ve spent the best part of five years dressed like a total slob. Even though my new look has been achieved on a massively tight budget – a supermarket dress for £20 and a pair of half-price ballet pumps teamed up with a jacket that must be 20 years old if it’s a day. Doyenne of fashion I am not, nor will I ever been again but it did feel good to dress with a bit of self-respect.
