Party abaya

By popular demand (although I feel sort of silly doing this ;-)) here I am modeling yet another new abaya by the designer Eman. This one is quite unique, with a sheer black outer garment and a sequined magenta inner garment. It’s very elegant but will only be suitable for dressy events – this wouldn’t be appropriate for going to the grocery store, or even a fashionable shopping mall. Definitely not a souk in a conservative part of town. Guess I better find some time and wangle some invitations for parties off the DQ!

This is a close-up of the two layers of fabric:

This is very elegant, Helen. I really like the geometric designs, but I'm sure the conservative Wahhabis (probably redundant) would say it obeys the letter but not the spirit. V

very attractive design.....I like the way the two layers mesh.....must be the kingdom's equivalent of a formal gown....ummm...do they have formals over there?....... :) .....Très élégant

You're becoming quite the model for us - looks great on you. I like the swirl designs and that's a lot of sequins to sew. Hope Eman has a machine to do that work.
