Scapteriscus spp.
Lateral View
Probably s. vicinus Juvenile
Tentative ID courtesy of Brandon Woo http://www.buggui.net/user/view/42238
According to Woo, this is a juvenile because "the tegmina (the roof-shaped thickened fore-wings)
are underneath the hind wings, as opposed to on top."
The tawny mole cricket is distinguished from other members of the Scapteriscus
genera by the fact that the tarsal dactys (toothlike projections on the front legs)
are almost touching at the base.
