In the 17th century, lattimo regained popularity. The opaque white glass vessels
looked like porcelain, but were cheaper. Lead and tin oxide or arsenic colored
the glass white. Miotti and Bertolini, the best-known glassworks in Murano
in the 18th century, sold the colored raw material in cakelike shapes.
