Santa Maria Novella from The Campanile

Florence, Italy

Looking west from the campanile, in the centre of the picture is the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella with its unusual north-south axis. To the right of the church is the main Florence railway station which is named after the church. I wasn't too keen on the look of the railway station. However, it is actually a highly regarded example of Italian modernism dating from 1932-34. Show how much I know!
