moped dangers 30.JPG

...... I hope you didn't fail to see my point. The point was the moped operator caused an accident because of an habitual tendency to neglect the law. That's why he was on a moped. Had the law not allowed unlicensed moped operators to continue driving , chances would have been a lot better that the accident wouldn't have happened. You wrote " Penalize those who break the law ". I AGREE ! You dont penalize those who have lost their license by allowing them to continue driving ! Not only that but now they are awarded to drive without having to afford insurance. Something they did BEFORE they lost their license. Enforcement ? What if we quadruple enforcement ? Will that make the dangers moped cause go away ? No. And there are more uninsured motorists on the road because there are more people who have decided to " break the law " by driving uninsured. BUT NC doesnt require those who dont know the first rule of the road and those who have ignored many of them to enjoy the privileges that we licensed drivers do. And talking about what the bible says in Mathew 18:21. The bible supports forgiveness but it also supports corporal punishment. What should we do with murders who have made a bad mistake ? All sin had to be paid with a price. Gods laws were broke and thank God , that HE himself paid for that. Mans laws are broke too and should be paid for by some type of admonishment at least equal to the offense. Not by God, not by society, but by those who committed the offense. Theres a big difference.
By putting law breakers ( and those who dont know the law ) on a moped that doesnt require a license and insurance just doesnt seem like a deterrent to bad behavior . It sounds more like a reward. No license, no insurance and ride ride ride ! Do you know how many law ENFORCEMENT officers I have spoken with who have told me they turn their heads when they see someone crossing the solid yellow line to pass a moped ? Do you know why they do that ? Its not to avoid giving the moped operator a ticket but to those who are passing them while crossing on a solid yellow line. The law protects mopeds by ignoring the law YOU are breaking. What if this MORE enforcement you were pulling for was granted and YOU and MORE others who slightly crossed that solid yellow while going around mopeds got tickets for it ? Would you still be so gun ho for grace and forgiveness ? Even our law enforcement knows there is a problem with mopeds and shows mercy to car drivers by turning their heads to those that pass them on solid yellows ....... but is asking law enforcement to ignore the problem the answer to the problem ?
You speak of grace to those moped operators. Jesus said in Romans 6:1: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. / Amos 2:6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;
I say enough is enough. We should not allow those without a drivers license to drive and those who have had their driving privaleges taken away to continue driving. Its that simple. Why would anyone desire to contest such logic ?
