I can touch type.
When I announced that I wanted to study journalism, my parents bought me this old type writer at an auction.
I learned the basics of typing on it and when I went to college, I learned touch typing, although I can't remember how many words a minute I mastered.
For my first twenty years working as a journalist, I used a typewriter, which meant that my typing had to be accurate as constantly stopping to correct mistakes would slow down my process.
When I joined the paper that I now write for, I was delighted to see Apple Macs in the office, assigning correction fluid and typewriter ribbons to history.
