Some gargoyles were also supposed to scare the demons away. When I was at college I had one just outside my window. This one doesn't look too scary though and perhaps has some other symbolism. It's a very good shot, though

I like this. It always amazes me why they have so much detail when most gargoyles are so high up no one will see them. I like the textures

Well... in fact there's not any hole to let the water fall. Is the reason that makes me think these figures evolved to a decorative function.

I assume there is an opening for water to fall from her mouth? She is quite wonderful really and so is the texture of the wall. Intriguing shot, and well captioned too.

Gargoyles were used to separate rain water from the walls, but this one doesn't seems to have this function. Maybe they evolved to a more decorative function...

Was she pushed or did she leap?, quite unusual, I must say

How unusual! Even the hair is falling down with the gravity so you know it was intended to be used on a wall like this. I was thinking she would have looked good in any garden too, but then I noticed her/his? hair falling forward. It was good to include the windows too or I might have thought this was sitting on a road. I really like this Endika.
