Shadowy situation... 20130725

Near the Green River Trail (Tukwila, Washington) view map

I happened to see this trailer while riding my recumbent trike through an office park in Tukwila, Washington during a short detour off the Green River Trail.

About "TIPZ 24807": "TIPZ' is the reporting mark for the company. Reporting marks are codes used by North American railroads to identify the owners of rolling stock or equipment (such as highway trailers) that is transported by rail.

“224807” is the company’s identifying number for the trailer. When I worked for T.I.P., the first two digits always identified the type of trailer and the last four the number were assigned to the particular trailer of that type. Back then, “20” referred to 40-foot dry vans (non-refrigerated trailers). This is a 48-foot-long trailer, so “22” probably stands for “48 foot-long dry van.”

Shot with an iPhone while sitting in the seat of my recumbent trike.
