Cockpit - 1935 Stinson SR 5-E

I was quite taken with this cockpit. It is that of a 1935 Stinsom SR 5-E, a five seater (pilot, co-pilot, and three passengers), with 300 horsepower, 9 cylinder air cooled Lycoming radial engine. I also have pictures of the whole plane but I really liked this inside view.

Excellent composition and framing. I like the sky beyond the cockpit. It gives a feel of flying. V.

Cockpits have gotten a lot more complicated over the years.

Love your POV, it looks like it could be in flight, except nobody at the controls!

Perfect lens and camera for this shot! Sharp, I can read the meters of this very basic, simple cockpit. Quit a change from what we see today.

Quite a catch.

A very cool angle of view, Vern. I love that all we see are clouds out the front window.

Classic shot Vern. I'll bet the pilots could get a good feel for flying this plane.

Bit different from a jumbo jet!

Very cool! This is when things were simple! :))

Amazing, the design changes over the years. Still need to coordinate steering whether wheel or stick with the pedals on the floor.

Fantabulous interior capture Vern! I can't believe how simple this cockpit it vs. planes of today! V

I can imagine mastering this more easily than a 747...

What a simple cockpit! But unfortunately it seems that the original flight instruments were replaced by more modern ones... Does it still fly?
