It is one of five Semi-State Landaus. The Semi-State Landaus are postilion ridden and State Landaus are coachman driven.
They also play a regular part in the welcoming of new ambassadors to the Court of St James's.
New ambassadors are arrived Buckingham Palace by landaus to present their Letters of Credence or Letters of High Commission to Her Majesty.
