the Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées,
commonly known as the Grand Palais (English: Great Palace) is an
exhibition hall (and museum) located near the Place de la Concorde.
It was built, in the Beaux-Arts style, using steel framing and glass
which provided light to the space in the days before electricity, for
Exposition Universelle, held in Paris from 15 April to 12 November,
1900. That’s the central dome, with the French flag flying above it.
