But the only way to get the full effect of the trencadis work on the bench!
The square, although oval in shape, is situated on top of the columned market hall. It was designed for residents to be able to enjoy public events as well as engage in conversation, facilitated by the unique configuration of the serpentine bench. The bench itself is decorated with trencadis (broken ceramic) work that features signs of the zodiac as well as religious and other symbols.
