Nave ceiling

Ely Cathedral

The nave ceiling panels were painted as part of a Victorian restoration by two artists, Henry Styleman le Strange and Thomas Bambier Parry. The illustrations depict the ancestry of Jesus from Adam through to Abraham, David and Jacob. The last four panels have New Testament themes. The work was completed for Christmas 1864.
