Chobam scene - 2nd try

Chobham, Surrey County, England

I applied the edits suggested by the first two posters on the first (unedited) image. I increased the "clarity" and "saturation" of just the building, and cropped out most of the lawn and part of the right-hand and left-hand margins. This does improve the focus of the viewer's attention on the house (subject of the image) but the large leaves at the top, I think, are still a distraction (I agree with Walt).

Your new crop brings the building more into the focus of attention. However, I'm not in love with this second crop. I personally feel that you cut off too much of the lawn. In my eyes, the minute space under the hedge leaves the image rather unbalanced. The photo is now top heavy.

Perhaps think about instead leaving as much space under the hedge as the smaller wing of building takes up (height wise). I haven't tried it; so I'm only guessing about what the "magic balance" may be for this image. A bit more lawn possibly could do the trick; without losing the building as the main subject. In other words, try a compromise with the space under the hedge.

In your re cropped second edit, the Natural Framing (with the branch & leaves) suddenly seems to be overwhelming. However, I found the same "natural frame" appealing in the original photo.
In this second version - with little space (lawn) under the building - the branch seems to fight with the building to capture the viewer's eye. In my case, the branch wins. My eye goes to the branch first (which it shouldn't) and then goes to the building. And then back to the branch.

What do you feel? Obviously, there are differences of opinion here. I won't pretend to be right. In the end, it is the photographer who is "right". Can you perhaps imagine a slightly different crop to perhaps add more balance?

Top heavy balance may work for some subjects. However, it isn't working for me in this image. JMHO.

I on the other hand feel that those leaves pull your eye right into the building, which as agreed, is the focal point. Like the other suggested and finished cropping and editing, but the leaves do not distract all that much and create a natural frame.
