Guadalupe Mountains National Park - El Capitan Sunrise 4

Rising 8,085 feet out of the Chihuahuan Desert, El Capitan is said to be the most well recognized Texas peak. At the forefront of Guadalupe Mountains National Park, El Cap served as a landmark for those traveling the Old Butterfield Overland Stagecoach route. Guadalupe Peak, at 8.749 feet, rests behind El Capitan and is the highest peak in Texas. El Capitan is the 8th tallest point in the state.
