St. George's dragon

The curved part that is visible from the street is a small attic and is said to be the flank of the dragon slain by the patron saint of Catalonia, St. George. Not only is the shape fascinating, but the metal covering and balls running along its edge change color as they progress around the hump.

This is the end of my Casa Batlló sub-gallery for now. We're going back to Barcelona at the end of June, so there might be additions to it then when I get a chance to see the things I overlooked (plus see them in sunlight!). Thanks as always for all the kind comments and votes. This house was a delight to visit and photograph, and I'm pleased that I was able to give a hint of its creative design.

A lovely abstract that captures some of the crazier architectural details very nicely. ~BV~

a lovely pair of images, but I always side with dragons rather than St George; at least here they seem to be in an amicable juxtaposition and no lances being shoved around
