Waiting

Sparrows are by far the most plentiful visitors to our bird feeders.
This one is waiting patiently for Toffee to go back inside the house
so he can resume his lunch.

If Toffee is anything like Lucy, his hunting skills are far exceeded by his imagination skills. Down here we used to have a lot of sparrows. It's not cats that have driven them out, it's Indian Mynah birds.
I like the way that the branches frame the sparrow.

So nice that you still have them about, they are so rare around here now , when I was young they where the most common bird about. Great shot

I love sparrows... -- they are so characterful (and yet get very tetchy when they realize there aren't enough slots to go round on the feeders...)! A lovely capture....

They are wary of the cat, a good thing! Nice shot, focus right on the eye!

Yes, cats do tend to be a bird feeder deterrent. :) Nice detailed capture of this little guy patiently waiting for lunch. Looks like spring. V.
