Mezel Plateau

Mezel Plateau, Provence, France

The best quality and most aromatic lavender grows on the high plateaus of the Provencal plains. It is dry and has plentiful sunlight. The lavender exudes such a powerful perfume that the only thing more astonishing than the smell and of course the infinitessimal convergence of a thousand lines of lavender is the low and deafening thrum of a billion bees furiously pollinating it. Most of the time the lavendar provides an uninterrupted view to the horizon but here and there a few trees and tufts of rye grass break the monocrop purple monotony.
