'Capability' Brown's original plans were for a simple classical structure,
built to look like a garden temple. However, George William, 6th Earl of Coventry,
was a keen follower of new trends, and so Brown was asked to redesign Croome church
as a Gothick building. It is built of brick, faced with Bath stone.
