Memorial to a Hungarian patriot

According to the sign, Dr. Béla Kristóf was mayor of Vác from 1945-1949 and from Oct. 26-Nov. 14, 1956, when, under his leadership, the city remained calm during the Hungarian Revolution. After the brutal suppression of the revolt, he fled to Australia, in December 1956. He was an honorary citizen of Vác from 1990 until his death in 1995.

I was really first interested in the beautiful door but then realized that this was a memorial as well.
