Hot mulled wine

We saw this stove in front of a Hapsburg Empress Maria Theresa-themed restaurant on our way down to the river and couldn't imagine why it was there, like had she used it or something? On our way back up the hill we saw what its purpose was.

The old photograph behind it appears to be of the street the restaurant is on; actually the door could be that of the restaurant.

Maria Theresa is said to have loved Vác and stayed there with her family.

That's certainly a good way to capture passing trade - an eye-catching display and the temptation of mulled wine. V

A curiously compelling collection of images. I love images in which there is so much to look at and ponder, as here. This is marvelous, Helen. V

it appears they have a history here....the wood stove should be up to the task...a drop of mulled Tokaj would go down well..

Great street scene! So the restaurant has been there some time? Good place to eat?
