Holy Trinity Square

Veszprém, Hungary

Holy Trinity Square (Szentháromság tér) with St. Michael’s Cathedral and the Holy Trinity statue.
The cathedral is the oldest Episcopal Church and the oldest cathedral in the country. It was erected by Gizella of Bavaria, the first Hungarian queen, in 1001.
The Holy Trinity Statue was erected by Bishop Márton Padányi Bíró in 1750. It was sculptured by Ferenc Simon (Ferenc Schmidt) and master stonemason Tamás Walch.
