The USS Missouri or “Mighty Mo” is anchored at Ford Island in Pearl Harbor within a ships length of the USS Arizona Memorial. It was on the USS Missouri that the "Instrument of Formal Surrender of Japan to the Allied Powers" was signed by representatives of the allied nations and the government of Japan in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. The white buoy with the blue ring indicates the location of the bow of the sunken USS Arizona.
