Little Switzerland / Diamondback Hwy 226 A

This ride will include an overnight stay ! Those who pledge to go , must pledge to recompense partner for room if they forfit the ride. We will reserve room hopefully within a few days so we can have some foresight into weather conditions. We will pair up for rooms to obviousy save money.
Go to Hwy 64 then to Hwy 40 West to Marion. I know its the interstate but we dont want to wear our asses out piddling to get to the vicinity of the roads of interest. Go 82 miles.
Exit off of Hwy 40, Exit # 86 Hwy 226 Marion Shelby. Turn right after exit. Hwy 226
After 1 mile 226 will be a right turn at the intersection. Go straight at the intersection to get
onto Hwy 221. Go 13 miles and make left onto 226 . Go 1.2 miles and Hwy 226 will turn right. Dont go right. Go straight. Road will be 226-A Go ________________ miles to the top. At the top we stop for food at Little Switzerland Cafe - http://switzerlandcafe.com/ '
Continue eastward on 226-A for ____________ miles and register at Skyline Village Inn - http://www.skylinevillageinn.com/
We have negotiable rates for stays longer than one night and for groups. The Skyline is a very popular stay over for motorcyclists riding the Parkway or visiting the area to ride the Diamondback or the Watauga and Murder Mountain Loops.

Riders can enjoy the great food, the varieties of beer and wine offered and not have to travel anywhere after their dining experience. They can kick back and enjoy our live entertainment or the spectacular view from the balcony.

Another reason Motorcycle Groups enjoy the Skyline is security: Parking is around back out of sight of passing traffic. In August 2008 we completed a sheltered concrete parking lot exclusively for Motorcycles. Additionally we completed the replacement of all the plumbing in the building all the way back to the well. After replacing all this we completely removed the old parking lot, relandscaping and resurfacing the entire lot!

Return Trip - Go down the mountain on Hwy 226 ( not 226-A )
Go left on Hwy 221 for 20 miles to Hwy 183 in Linville Falls. Make Right. Run 183 for ____ miles and make right onto 181 In Jonas Ridge. Run 181 to Morganton and then a short run on Hwy 18 to 40 EAST.
