Broad-headed bug (Alydus eurinus)

Photographed at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden. This species is frequently found on goldenrod, and this guy was also on goldenrod, but I coaxed him onto my finger for a better shot, because the wind was blowing so hard that a shot was otherwise difficult. You can see he is covered in goldenrod pollen, and also, that he has extended his proboscis and is probing my finger.
