The Íplik Camii (also named: Hacı Abdi Camii) was built in 1562-1569 by Cimri Hacı Abdi Ağa, a rich citizen of the town, next to the Íplik Pazarı (Yarn market). It had to be repaired in 1781, was severely damaged by the 1914 earthquake and was rebuilt as a two-storey mosque in 1951.

On the picture: The mosque’s interior, with the mihrab (prayer niche, indicating the direction of Mecca) and the minber (pulpit for Friday sermons). The first row of pillars support the platform were women take place if they want to participate in the common prayer; it is situated on the north side of the prayer hall, above the entrance door.
