4th - Into the Light - by Michael Kilpatrick

A bit too similar to my golfer shot in the last challenge, unfortunately, but there's no fog in this one, just blown highlights.

In western culture we read from left to right. Not surprisingly we view pictures in the same way. All that white space on the right will not hold the eye in the picture. IMO this picture would be better if it was flipped horizontally. Try and see what you think.

A very fine shot, and great use of the blown highlights.
I need to practice in this area.

Thanks Joshua.
Paul, we have a strong tradition in Australia of young men, usually with a car full of guffawing companions, demonstrating their virility by leaving $100 worth of rubber on the road every time they get their car moving. Doof doof music, at the threshold of pain, seems to be another required component.
Sierra, I was going to try using the tunnel to frame someone in the light at the other end (there's a bike path off to the right) but I realised that exposing for the interior of the tunnel and blowing out the highlights was more interesting. Then it was just a matter of waiting until someone walked through. There was quite a lot of pedestrian traffic and this was my favourite - I think they were a couple of children. Regards, Michael

I like how this is broken up into fourths. Also this seems very well conceived, did you have a vision for this shot, or were you just lucky?

Are those tire marks on the pavement? Like if someone hit the brakes or hit the gas pedal to hard? My kind of driving! :~) Paul

I think the blown highlights are really working for you, directing all the attention right to the middle. I love this one.
