Dusky clubtail (Phanogomphus spicatus)

Found several of these handsome clubtails today. It is often one of the first clubtails I see in the late spring.

Haa, almost identical with our Common clubtail - just a few days ago the whole village was full of them after emerging in masses. Well captured!

It is really pretty with its yellow and black stripes. Fantastic close up. V.

Wow, Christine, this is a gorgeous photo of this guy! Now you have me green with envy :) I am hoping to get a photo of one this year. I keep striking out with them! I don't see them very often either for some reason even though they are supposed to be "common".

He is a gorgeous dragon, isn't he? Haven't seen one yet this year and this weekend's forecast won't help!

Like it's wearing a set of helicopter propeller wings and will soon take off!
