Oh how disappointing, you'll have to find a new favourite!
Zak20-Apr-2012 09:37

Bummer as Joni Mitchell sang, "They paved paradise, to put up a parking lot.."

That is a great shame.
Maybe time to send a little photo essay to your local paper.

And they've turned the place into a thing of beauty...not!!

a disconcerting and abrupt end for the little tree..and to think it might have spawned others over time...it is hard to see how it's razing has improved the area...the hand of man so often weighs heavily on the landscape..

What a shame about your little tree! Ummmm.... maybe you could photoshop it back in.....
I really like this image John ~ Love the crisscross of the hills. :)

Funny how these little things can be really upsetting,John!Sadly it is not progress but needless vandalism carried out by individuals or organisations with total disregard for anyone else!!Why don't you replant several trees with Photoshop! :>)))

Yikes, perhaps a seed is lodged deep inside and in ten years or so will surprise and delight you. In the meantime, curse the day and bellow to the skies

Oh no! Its not like they can builld houses here.
Colin Storey18-Apr-2012 18:44
Why would someone want to do that, great shame.
malcolm haslam18-Apr-2012 18:42
What! Has some Euro commission decided we have too many little trees, now? Or have the risk assessment people decided that it was a danger to the local community?
:-(

What a shame! Destruction in Weardale - you need to do a little investigation.
