Todays pic is taken on the way back from Skye when the mist and the sun and clouds were playing games with each other. Whilst the subject matter is not the strongest the purpose of this shot was to test the dynamic range of the D800 to see if it was anything like the 12 Ev claimed. The sky highlights appeared to be completely clipped when viewed in camera, no ND grads were used here. Once the 14 bit RAW file was uploaded to Lightroom 4 they were easily recovered....which is not very scientific but pretty impressive to me,
