We had seen this small kiln building through a fence on a previous visit http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/132628177 when the whole place was one giant construction site. I was enchanted with it then, but now it's a charming kiosk with a lovely display of old Zsolnay tile. It looks like the roof and walls have also been restored.
Zsolnay architectural ceramics were extensively used on roofs at the turn of the last century, especially in Secessionist buildings such as the Applied Arts Museum http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/132149972 and http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/132166764; the Postal Savings Bank http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/133439899; and the Geology Institute http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/132335363, all in Budapest.
