This was my M-2 Carbine before I was issued the M-14. The M-2 was much lighter to carry, like three pounds lighter. It also carried either a 15 or 30 round clip and was capable of full auto. At 200 yards on full auto in the prone position I could put three rounds in a target starting at the crotch, belly and chest. Great fun. I almost got busted big time for using this rifle on guard duty. Fortunately they couldn't prove that I put the bullet holes in the telephone pole while on guard duty. I think the statute of limitations has long expired on that mis deed. I still don't think I'll admit to it though:) I plead article 31 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
