The abdominal segments fall into three groups, each distinct: segments 1 and 2 are short and
dissimilar; in the male #2 has part -- not all! -- of the guy's sex organs. then middle five, 3-7,
are all long and similar except for coloration. The last three are short and specialized, the female
here showing her ovipositor and vulvar spine.
Bluets can grab prey in flight, but they often "graze" by gliding through vegetation (coyotebush
popular) picking off little bugs, instars, spiders, etc.
