Bluet, Enallagma sp, female

Here you can see mandibles, frons, occiput (with a reflection from a simple eye), plus
the huge compound eye. She's a carnivore and munches any kind of insect that flies within
her purview, which is everywhere. She seizes prey with six spurred legs, returns to a
favored perch, and consumes it entire, minus wings.

More can be seen here: the short antennae, a lot of setae (hairs), all of her legs, plus
the three coxae that connect legs to thorax. The thorax is tilted back from the standard
insect model, with the wings behind, in two pairs. Front and hind wings are identical,
offset. Finally the abdomen: long and straight, flexible for the mating act, comprising
exactly ten segments, the first four visible here.
