Many Polaroids

West Virginia

Minolta Instant Pro on tripod using timer and on board flash. The Impossible Project PZ 600 Silver Shade film with black frame. Holding my Polaroid SX70. It is an SLR with amazing optics. It folds up into a small flat easy to carry camera.

Also submitted for the challenge list, "Something You Collect."

When I stumbled across my old Color Pack II two winters ago, I discovered you could still get film from Fuji. I bought some and was so awed by the results from this plastic camera with it's plastic lens that I knew I had to get a better Polaroid camera.

So I actually didn't set out to collect them but there are so many different ones and each uses different films and does different things and I now have quite a few. None cost very much either.

I know this isn't the greatest self portrait and is one of many on my quest to get a Polaroid of me holding my SX70. I look kind of psycho or something. The timer beeps and it gets faster and faster as it counts down so maybe that accounts for it. :)

Other worlds can be seen here.

I like what you collect. You don't look psycho but it does remind me of a mug shot in a way. Just kidding! LOL!

Nice to meet you Karen and I really like this SP. I guess it's natural that photographers should collect cameras.
John King03-Nov-2011 21:01
This is a great self portrait with superb focus and an engaging tonal range. Your quiet expression reminds me a little of early portrait photographs where the subject was told to stay perfectly still for a few seconds. V+
