Here we are on the shore of Lake Titicaca(elevation 12,628 ft.) That is a name that just rolls off your tongue. W.C.Fields had a lot fun with that name. We spent the day on the lake, starting wit a visit to one of the reed islands that people actually live on. It was interesting to see how the islands are constructed. Basically they just keep layering reeds on the island as the ones underneath decompose. Pretty cool. We then motored out in the lake to Taquile Island where they put on a little weaving show and dance before we had a nice lunch of fresh Lake Titicaca trout. When we got back to the hotel late in the afternoon and decided to try some tripod photos of ourselve. It was windy and cold on the viewing platform, so we decided to go down the slope a little bit. It also got us out of the direct sunlight so we used some fill flash. Pretty cool place.
