From the look-out

en route to Port Douglas, FNQ

This look-out is a breathing spot for motorists driving the extremely windy
road between Cairns and Port Douglas. We weren't the only ones to stop
here to give the driver a rest.

Yes, the view over Wangetti Beach is worth stopping to see. It's a popular site for hang-gliding too, as you discovered.
