This is the top of an old minelamp my dad has worked with in the coal mines in the late 1950s. The lamp was powered by gasoline. It was a lifesaver because the lamp warned for the presence of mine gas (the flame would change from colour when gas was present).
Shot this by putting is on top of a sweater in the middle of the living room using only available daylight. A polariser and some cloth hung on some chairs around the lamp where needed to get rid of annoying reflections of the windowlight on the lamp.
