Reportedly there are more Moose in Newfoundland than there are people. Highway signs everywhere warn of the dangers of Moose/car collisions, especially during dusk. We saw many billboards listing the number of vehicle/Moose collisions and the number of deaths to date this year. We, however, only saw two Moose along the side of the highway during our 3000Km journey across Newfoundland. We did, however nearly get wiped out, not by the sighted Moose, but by a dumb tourist who cut right in front of us then slammed on the brakes all to get a picture of the Moose along the side of the road.
The Moose in this image was shot at the Salmonier Nature Park.
