Oh, The Places You'll Go
It seems like yesterday. I remember sitting here, typing about the chances that Ella would be born healthy. I was so scared that the worst case scenario was going to happen. Today, I sent my last little girl to preschool. I sent her off into a big world, with big people that aren’t me. Strangers telling her what she needs to know. Until today, everything in her world came from us.
She went into her class today full of excitement and wonder. There were no tears. There was no fighting. Just a simple “Bye Daddy” and a quick kiss. I don’t ever wish for my kids to be sad. In fact, I pretty much spend my life ensuring that won’t happen. But, if I’m being honest here, I wouldn’t have minded a few tears.
My last little girl. Off into the world.
In the words of Dr. Seuss:
Kid, you’ll move mountains!
So…be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ale Van Allen O’Shea, you’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!
