Summer at Shiloh National

Shiloh, Tennessee

I try to improve, sometimes, by approaching a shot I have done before, using a different technique and/or a different lens.
The day was stifling ...the heat index at Shiloh was 120 degrees F.I shot this prone, just above the grass.
I'll post the other attempt later in the week...

Leica M9 ,Zeiss Distagon ZM 18/4.0
1/25s f/13.0 at 18.0mm iso160 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I love the shot and your composition.
But 120F, that's 48C no way could I venture out in that kind of heat, I'd just dissolve.
Give me the snow and frost any day, a really cool shot though.

I like your view point too. Always a touching reminder of our
past.

I like this POV very much. I think that re-shooting for improvement is a great idea and I'm looking forward to your other attempt.

This fine image conjures up thoughts of the slaughter that took place here.
the drummer likely in his teens, and all the other young men who died,
and are buried in the background.
A very thought provoking image Michael.

This projects a great sense of isolation from the other graves and
emphasizes the subject very well. The monument in the center is quite
creative.
