Bologna's Pinacoteca is a island of calm, culture, and artistic beauty in a sea of craziness
at the end of a long, (and at times disturbing), walk through the University district.
Bologna's excellent museum has works by major Proto-Renaissance and Renaissance artists such as Giotto and Raphael,
as well as an important collection of major 17th c. Bolognese Classicists represented by artists such as
Ludovico Agostino, and Annibale Carracci, as well as some of the most important works by Guido Reni and Guercino.
This image shows one of the beautiful state-of-the-art galleries in the Pinacoteca.
