Becca and Pat came over for dinner this evening. We had a great meal of fettucini alfredo with shrimp and crab, broccoli and salad. It was, of course, topped off with ice cream and hot fudge (had to be, Ginny and Pat were in attendance). Anyway, after dinner I went upstairs to watch TV. After a while I noted that there was no longer any conversation coming from the kitchen so I went down to investigate. Here's what I saw. They were sitting around the kitchen table playing games with each other on their iPhones. The game was Words with Friends (essentially scrabble). David had a game going with Becca, Ginny and Pat had a game going with David and Becca had two games going with Ginny and Pat. This took an evening of playing games to a new level for me. I didn't participate because I refuse to have anything to do with hand held devices except for a cell phone which I am required to have because Ginny said so.
