This church (also known as the Aya Triada) did not allow any photography inside, and I respected that although others did not. The janitor let us go in and look around, so he got a donation.
Constantinople was the capital of the Ottoman Empire, and this neighborhood has many old embassies that have been converted to consulates now that the capital is in Ankara. We did not visit Ankara, but this might be one country where assignment to the consulate is better duty than assignment to the embassy, if you are in your nation's Foreign Service.
