These 44 Pyramids are steep sided masonry structures up to 30 m high.
The Royal toombs under the structures are reached by descending stairways leading to usually three rooms all roughly finished.
At ground level the pyramids feature large extensively decorated funerary chapels built agaist the East pyramid faces.
The field was the main Royal burial area for over 500 years from 230 BC to AD 320.
