Jesus and his family run a farm near Bijagua in northern Costa Rica. Twenty-five years ago, amid all the other eco-policies being put in place within the country, they decided to go chemical free at the family farm and restore their land back to primary forest. In addition, Jesus collects Red-eyed Tree frog eggs from local streams and brings them back to his farm and nursery. His success rate is many times higher than mother nature coupled with the fact that he nurses them until they're around 3 months old before releasing them back into the wild. Jesus and family have released thousands of juvenile frogs back into the wild to ensure this symbol of Costa Rica carries on. It's unsung efforts of local people like Jesus and his family and others across Costa Rica that make a difference in keeping Costa Rica wild and beautiful. Thanks Jesus!
P.S. I forgot to mention, Jesus does all this while suffering from Parkinson's disease. Incredible!
